Nick Thornton practiced law in New Zealand before gaining experience in the telecommunications and investment banking sectors. In 1994, he joined Société Générale de Surveillance Holding SA (SGS) where he specialized in corporate development and M&A work, particularly in the health care sector. Thornton left SGS in 2001 to join Inveresk Research Group International as chief operating officer and head of corporate development. At Inveresk, he oversaw several acquisitions and business integrations as well as its public listing on the NASD in 2002 before its sale for $1.5 billion in 2004.
Thornton cofounded Czura Thornton in 2004 and has since led multiple transactions in the life sciences industry and other sectors. He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and an MBA from Auckland University, New Zealand.
